***Bonnie Hugeback, of Coon Rapids, MN, is our new Representative of the North Central Region to the National Executive Council, replacing Barb Justl who represented us for six years.  Bonnie partook in the first teleconference with the Council the same weekend as this teleconference.

***The new Board of Directors of the Christian Life Community-North Central Region Endowment Trust Fund, met recently by teleconference.  The Fund is over $20,000 rich.

The following are Board Members:

Mary Anne Hession (Omaha NE)

Bob Justl (Sun Prairie WI)

Mike McCormack (Milwaukee WI)

Bob Smith (Columbia MO)

Jack Zuercher, S.J. (Omaha NE)

***Fr. Alberto Brito, S.J., International Ecclesial Deputy Assistant, will be spending a few days in Milwaukee at with the Jesuit provincials, May 20-23.  He will have some time to visit with CLCers in the Wisconsin-Illinois area.  Watch for further information on this, e.g., the possibility of a pot luck supper in Milwaukee and another in central Wisconsin.

***The Gigi Cannon Memorial Retreat in Daily Life will be ending in early May.  Eight Omaha CLCers made the Exercises in this form.  Four laity and four Jesuits served as Guides.  There is an expectation that the program will be offered again this coming fall.

***Remember that the Formation Institute for Coordinators and Guides of Local Christian Life Communities will be held at the Creighton Retreat Center (near Omaha) the morning of June 24 to the evening of June 30 this year.  The program, called “Opening the Way,” will bring together people either in leadership positions now or those who wish to know more about the history and value of CLC with the possibility of expanding the movement in the future.  All received a copy of the brochure in our recent Newsletter, but I can provide people interested with all the particulars in the event the flyer was misplaced.  The cost for the week-long program is $500, and if someone is interested and able to attend but needs financial assistance, they should contact Fr. Zuercher at 402/280-2692 or write:  jzsj@creighton.edu.

***The NCR ExCo has been existence for about 14 months now.  It is time to formalize the entity somewhat, including such things as qualifications for membership, length of terms for members, expectations, etc.  For instance, local CLCers could nominate a person from a Cluster for ExCo membership.  Sometime in the next weeks Maryanne Rouse and I will create something and send it to the current members for your comments and recommendations.
