JOINING AARG
New Memberships
Membership is open to all interested persons. Persons do not have to be members of either the American Anthropological Association or the Society for Medical Anthropology to join AARG. Regular membership is $20, and student membership is $5 per year. Membership is free to international researchers and students and anyone who cannot afford the registration fee. All members receive the biannual AIDS and Anthropology Bulletin, admission to our discussion/information list, and access to our membership directory which will eventually be available on-line.AARG Discussion List
AARG operates an e-mail discussion list using Mailman software for AARG members. The listserv provides a speedy and effective way for AARG members to network, discuss important issues, plan conference panels and other events. When you join AARG simply indicate on the electronic form that you wish be included on the discussion list. If you don't see a welcome message from the list software in 24 hours please e-mail the list moderator, Ray Bucko (bucko@creighton.edu). Identify yourself as a new or current member of AARG and request to join the list. He will register you and you will then receive instructions on how to use the list. Be sure to read our sample list discussion: AIDS Prevention and Paradigms. While we are not always so intense on our list the discussion is both important and shows how the electronic list and our organization in general serves to continue this important work.Digital Membership Form
The middle of September is membership renewal time -- please use our on-line membership form for both membership renewals and new memberships. -- either send in the data via an e-mail message or, the least attractive solution that still might be necessary, print it out and send it by way of the postal system.
