CSAS ARCHIVES AND HISTORICAL INFORMATIONThe official records, publications, historical documents, and correspondence of the Central States Anthropological Society (CSAS) are preserved in the National Anthropological Archives (NAA). The Guide to the Collections at the National Anthropological Archives provides a description of the Central States Anthropological Society Records on deposit. Records in the archives and manuscripts catalog can be searched by keyword using (SIRIS (Smithsonian Institution Research Information System). The archives and historical materials were originally organized by Barry L. Isaac on behalf of the CSAS. Readers will enjoy Prof. Isaac's synopsis of the society's beginnings in 1921 through the 1950s, CSAS History: The Early Years. Deposit of CSAS official records (PDF file) in the NAA continues on a regular basis. Interested researchers will discover other records and historical resources for further study.
