FACULTY MISSION & IDENTITY GROUP
PARTICIPANTS
The faculty Mission and identity Group is a loosely knit group of faculty members sharing an interest in the mission and identity of Creighton University as a Catholic and Jesuit university. More specifically, FMIG participants are interested in examining the particular relevance of that mission for the teaching, research and service activities they undertake as faculty members.
The FMIG was initiated by a number of Creighton faculty members who participated in the 2003 Faculty Conversations at Regis University in an attempt to carry forth the inspiring discussions that took place at Regis among the faculty representatives of the various Heartland Jesuit colleges and universities. At present, FMIG activities are cooridnated by Dr. Jos Welie (CHPE) and Dr. John Workman (COBA).
The FMIG focuses its activities on faculty members, but any CU member interested in these activities is welcome to join. In essence, "joining" simply means being added to the FMIG mailing list. However, FMIG much appreciates faculty members' willingness to volunteer in the organization of specific FMIG activities, or the general management of the FMIG.
