Mission Statement To promote the sport of Lacrosse at Creighton University and in the city of Omaha through sportsmanship and serious competition; to teach both men and women, new and old players respect for this Native American game; to provide an outlet for physical activity, social interaction and bonding experiences for team members, and to represent Creighton University as men and women for others. Coaching The Creighton Men’s Club Lacrosse team is run by head coach Will Gilner who has helped form Creighton University into one of the best lacrosse teams in the Great Rivers Lacrosse Conference for his 8th season. Coach Gilner grew up playing the great game of lacrosse in Baltimore, Maryland and continues to dedicate himself in the promotion of lacrosse as not only a sport but a lifestyle. A lacrosse player at Gilman High School and later at Northwestern University, lacrosse has always been one of his passions. Coach Gilner has been the head coach of Creighton University (2003-Present) as well as the head coach of Millard West High School (2006-2008), and has been the Division 2 Commissioner for the Great Rivers Lacrosse Conference since 2005. Team The club has been in existence since 1999. During that time the team has had many great leaders acting as president, treasurer, and captains who have developed the club into what it is today. The team has made the GRLC conference tournament in each year of its existence. Also, we are consistently a contender for a conference championship and are well on our way to making a national tournament appearance. |
