Interfaith Celebration
Marks Beginning of Spring Semester

The Annual Interfaith Celebration has marked the official beginning of the spring semester for over a decade. The 12th annual gathering will be held at 12:15 p.m. in Saint Francis Xavier College Church, Tuesday, Feb. 5.

The theme for this year's event is "United for Peace." The celebration offers an opportunity to share our values and beliefs and to unite in prayer for the University community and the world.

The Interfaith Celebration is rooted in respect and the diverse faiths expressed in our community. In this time of unrest among nations, people of faith search for answers together, for peace and for the values which unite us.

Readings about peace from several faith traditions including Ba'hai, Buddhism, Christianity, Hinduism, Islam and Judaism will be featured. Melody of Praise and the Campus Ministry Choir will provide music.

Classes will be cancelled from 12:15 to 2 p.m. to make it possible for students, faculty and staff to attend. Lunch will be served in the Ballroom of St. Francis Xavier College Church immediately following the celebration.

Transportation will be available on the campus shuttles, which will stop at the College Church and Busch Memorial Center. Visit the parking services web page for a shuttle schedule. Reciprocal parking is available for HSC staff and faculty in the Olive garage. Please use the non-numbered spaces.
