Interfaith Celebration Features Readings, Music
Saint Louis University's annual Interfaith Celebration has marked the official beginning of the spring semester for more than a decade. Join the University community in celebrating the 13th annual gathering at 12:20 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 4, in St. Francis Xavier College Church.
The theme for this year's event is "Wholly People of Faith" and offers an opportunity to share our values and beliefs and to unite in prayer for the University community and the world.
The Interfaith Celebration is rooted in respect and in the diverse faiths expressed in our community. In this time of unrest among nations, people of faith search for answers, peace values that unite us. The event will feature readings about peace from several faith traditions including Ba'hai, Buddhism, Christianity, Hinduism, Islam and Judaism.
Music will be provided by the University's all-male a capella group Bare Naked Statues, Melody of Praise gospel ensemble, and the University Mass Choir.
Classes will be cancelled from 12:15 to 2 p.m. so that students, faculty and staff may attend. Lunch will be served in the immediately following the celebration.
Transportation will be available on the Grand Avenue shuttle, which will stop at DuBourg Hall. Reciprocal parking is available for HSC staff and faculty in the Olive garage. Please use the non-numbered spaces.
